"Sometimes it takes time to straighten the tail" quipped former Army chief and Union Minister General (Retd) VK Singh on Sunday when asked about the repeated ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Aa jayega...Kai bar poonch seedhi krne mein samay lagta hai (They will. Sometimes it takes time)", V K Singh said whilespeaking to media persons here on Sunday. He also said that the Indian Army wasalways prepared to take befitting action whenever the occassion demanded.
"Indian Army is always ready. They take action wheneverit is required and which cause damage to the enemy," the former Army Chiefsaid while speaking to reporters here.
Indian Army on Sunday inflicted heavy damages and casualtieson the Pakistan side after two Indian soldiers and a civilian were killed inceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara. The IndianArmy also used artillery guns to target terrorist camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) which have been actively trying to push terrorists into India'sterritory.Taking a dig at Pakistan and its Army, VK Singh said, "In 1965they used to run Radio Jhootistan. This habit of theirs has not gone away. So,let them say whatever they are. What our Army has told you is true. As our ArmyChief has said, the Indian Army takes action at the LoC from time to time tocontrol the situation so as to prevent any mischief by the other side. Theresult of the action has been conveyed to you. I would say that our army isalways ready to take action when needed so that what is being violated from theother side and the indirect war can be stopped," he added.
The former Army Chief pointed out that Pakistan had refusedto take back the bodies of its soldiers killed in 1996 Kargil war. The BJPleader also claimed that his party is forming government in both Haryana andMaharashtra with a majority.
Earlier, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said that at leastsix-ten Pakistan soldiers were killed in the retaliatory action by Indian Armywhile three terrorist camps were also destroyed.
